Many cars are equipped with automatic transmission, some with manual. The job of the
transmission is to convert the power of the engine to the drivetrain.
The job of the transmission is to select the gear ratio to provide enough power to
take-off from a stop sign to the ratio needed to get decent fuel mileage while traveling
down the road.
